Internet Content Management
WebDB – Allows easy creation of web pages that are linked to the Oracle database. Has an HTML-based interface and provides wizards for the completion of various development tasks.
iFS (Internet File system) – A Java app that uses the Oracle8I Java Virtual Machine. Allows for “file system/network drive” type of interface to manage various types of files within the Oracle database.
InterMedia – Allows the database server to manage various types of multimedia content, such as image, audio, text, and video, for Internet and non-Internet applications. Includes modules for the following services:
ConText Services – Provides support for text applications that use common formats such as HTML, Word, Excel, and PDF files.
Audio, Video, and Image services – Allows access to this type of data in many Internet formats and from both Oracle8I internal and external sources, including distributed servers. Utilizes the Oracle8i interMedia Audio, Image, and Video Java Client.
Geometric Locator Services – Allows for applications to perform location queries based upon various data such as an address. Integrates both QMSoft and MapInfo products.
Intermedia contains the intermedia clipboard and Web agent to Web-enable Oracle applications to be able to do the following:
· Collect multimedia objects from external devices such as cameras and scanners.
· Get multimedia objects out of the Oracle8I database.
· Edit media objects using external tools.
· Store media objects in the database.
· Easily “drag and drop” media objects into Web apps and Web authoring programs.
· Create various types of URL’s to reference objects via the intermedia web agent.
Oracle8i Time Series – Provides functionality to perform time based searches.
